Usually, when ESPN2 shows a La Liga match on Sundays, it is either Real Madrid or Barcelona playing because the casual soccer fan will probably know who these two teams are. There have been other matches not involving them on ESPN2, but for the vast majority of the time, it has been the top two teams in Spain. So if ESPN has Sunday matches that do not feature Real Madrid or Barcelona, they will most likely not air those matches on ESPN2. It is not as though ESPN or ESPN2 usually airs something important to them during the 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM EST times, but they believe that airing matches without Real Madrid or Barcelona will garner very few viewers.

As for Gol TV and Dish Network, it is the same issue that Versus has with DirecTV: money. Unfortunately, the dispute does not seem to be heading toward resolution, as it has been nearly a year and a half. Sorry about your situation, but keep watching whatever La Liga match to which you have access.

Whatever happened to the ESPN 2 Sunday La Liga match? Was viewership that poor that they canned that experiment right away? Any hope that Gol TV returns to Dish sometime soon so I can once again see more La Liga? A man can dream can't he?
