Fernando Tena’s imminent sacking at the Mexican side is causing a whirlwind in the City. The team’s performance against San Luis pretty much made the decision for him, there is no one in their right mind that will think that he will be on the bench next weekend against Cruz Azul in the Clásico Joven at the Azteca.

Now there is the question mark as far as the team’s future is concerned. According to reports, Carlos Bianchi and Fabio Cappello are the two top choices to fill that void come next year. Bianchi has a slight, but significant edge over the former Real Madrid man because of his professional and personal relations with the bigwigs of Televisa.

Let’s also keep in mind the fact that he is still technically under contract with Atlético Madrid. This will allow him to take over the post only at the beginning of this year. On Monday, the América brass will send a group to Buenos Aires to negotiate with “El Virrey”. This news is according to Ovaciones.

In the meantime, former América play and Argentine, Uruguayan, and Israeli international Daniel Brailovsky has verbally agreed to take over the side until the end of the season. “El Ruso” is currently working as analyst for ESPN in Mexico City.
